This Is The Way Of The Peregrine

The most recent post on Outside My Window, concerning peregrine falcons, contains this wonderful photograph taken by Kim Steininger. Please note that the article itself is intended as an introductory piece on the nature of peregrines.

Trembling to write, even in recollection.

Thank you all who attended our most recent meeting. It was fantastic to see so many faces both old and new. Minutes are available on request. Thank you for the suggestion of the following image in the meeting. Though many of us are amateurs I am sure we all relate to these words from T.W. White.

Apologies

Apologies for the radio silence since the last message on the blog. The password was unfortunately misplaced and we were unable to recover it until now - thankfully a member was able to find it written down whilst they were spring cleaning! We will endeavour to return to regular posts on this blog, and all members are reminded to check their emails regularly for member updates. If you are not currently on the mailing list please do get in touch.

Best wishes from the committee,

Stretching His Veil Of Telemetry

Thank you again for the suggestion of this poem by Sanandra Maitreya in last week's meeting. A wonderful way to start our webpage.

A falcon aloft
perched on a tree
stretching his veil of
telemetry
and scanning the fields
beneath its claws
and beneath its old desires
while measuring the wind
to see how much
wingspan the day requires.

Best wishes from the committee,

T.H.S.S.
